The Selection Committee of the Special Excellence Awards Scheme has paid a courtesy visit to former Registrar, Mrs. Sophia Quarshie-Sam, to formally introduce the initiative and discuss its implementation plans.
This visit followed an earlier letter from the committee, indicating their intention to schedule a physical meeting.
Mr. Anthony Adjapong, Chairman of the Planning and Fundraising Committee, outlined the ceremony's plans and schedule, announcing the launch on April 4, 2025. He also highlighted an interactive session, "Up Close with the Former Registrars," scheduled for June 11, 2025.
He further emphasized that the awards ceremony aims to recognize the contributions of past registrars and their dedicated service to the university. The maiden edition of the awards is set to take place on June 13, 2025.
In response, Mrs. Sophia Quarshie-Sam expressed her gratitude to the committee for the recognition, describing it as a great honour.
Registrar, Mr. Andrews Kwasi Boateng, established the Special Excellence Awards Scheme for staff of the Registrar’s Offices as part of his vision to motivate staff for creativity and dedicated service to the university.
Also present at the meeting were the Chairman of the Selection Committee, former Deputy Registrar Mr. Solomon Panford, and Mrs. Quarshie-Sam's husband, Prof. S.J. Quarshie-Sam.
